Freeway Traffic School is a private DMV-licensed provider (E1745) and is not a part of the DMV or any California court.

Get court approval

  1. Find your filed citation

Use the court's citation search and read the courtesy notice for school and correction amounts. The issuing agency must file the ticket before it appears.

  2. Clear any fix-it requirements

Santa Cruz requires correctable violations to be cleared before the school request. Submit proof for any reduced correction amount.

  3. Choose the school option

Select fine plus school. If that option is missing, contact the clerk before paying; ordinary payment can close the case without school.

Confirm your completion

Freeway reports completion electronically for California-licensed drivers after you pass and pay. How reporting works.

  1. Meet the assigned date

Finish within the school period granted by the court.

  2. Verify completion receipt

Check the public case portal. For an unresolved record, contact TrafficInfo@santacruzcourt.org or (831) 420-2200 with your case details.

Common questions

No notice and no search result?

Contact the clerk before the citation date. A missing notice does not remove your responsibility to respond.

Want school if you lose a written declaration?

Request that option in your written declaration. Santa Cruz says omitting the request loses the school option for that matter.

Need installments with traffic school?

Ask the court for its school payment-plan option. Its standard monthly payment plan and community service cannot be combined with school; confirm the correct arrangement first.
